Zobaze is a free, offline-capable phone POS used by small stores around the world. It is a sensible option for a shop owner who wants to start today with an Android phone. Shopkeepa is a pre-launch app aimed at Caribbean shops, so this page compares what Zobaze offers now with what Shopkeepa will offer at launch.

Pick Shopkeepa when it launches if you want an app made for Caribbean shops, with GCT or VAT and your currency as settings, a restock list built from your minimums, and a version that runs in a browser on phone, tablet or computer.

Zobaze describes itself as a free point of sale for small stores that turns a phone or tablet into a till. Its site says it works fully offline and syncs when the internet returns. It supports camera and external barcode scanning, thermal printers, staff roles, expense tracking, a web back office and a one-click shop front website. Its pricing page says you can try Premium free for 15 days with no credit card.
For a shop owner who just wants to start billing, a free offline app on an Android phone is a hard offer to beat.
The free plan has limits. Zobaze's pricing page shows the free plan allows only 100 items and keeps receipts for the last 14 days, with limited item-wise sales history. A mini-mart or hardware store often carries several hundred products, so most real shops will end up on Premium. The Premium price is not shown on the web pricing page, so check in the app before you build your shop around it.
Android first. Zobaze's site says it is available on Android phones and tablets, and its web back office handles inventory. Shopkeepa runs in the browser on phone, tablet or computer, so an iPhone owner or someone working at a laptop at the counter is covered.
Built for somewhere else. Zobaze serves small stores worldwide, and its examples lean on salons, cafes and car washes. Nothing it publishes describes GCT, VAT thresholds or Caribbean payment types. Shopkeepa treats those as first-class: currency and sales tax are shop settings, products can be marked taxable or not, and local wallets are one of the recorded payment types. See Shopkeepa for Jamaica.
The restock step. Zobaze alerts you when stock is low. Shopkeepa goes one step further: set a minimum per product, get one reminder when stock crosses it, and open a restock list with a suggested order quantity you can take to the supplier. More on that in low-stock alerts.
Expiry tracking. Zobaze lists expired stock alerts. Shopkeepa's first release does not track expiry dates. It lets you record stock as removed because it expired, but it will not warn you ahead of time.
Zobaze lets you export your data. Take your item list to a spreadsheet, keep name, price, quantity and, if you have them, cost, category and barcode, and import it into Shopkeepa with CSV or Excel import. A preview shows what will be saved and flags duplicate names. Items sold in several units or sizes will need to become separate products, because Shopkeepa's first release has no variants or fractional units. Do a rapid stock count afterwards.
It has a free plan with unlimited billing but a limit of 100 items and 14 days of receipts, according to its pricing page. A Premium plan removes those limits, and Zobaze offers a 15-day Premium trial without a card.
Yes. Zobaze says it works offline and syncs with the cloud when the internet returns.
Its site and Google Play listing describe an Android app, plus a web back office. Check Zobaze for current iOS availability.
Shopkeepa is built for Caribbean shops: GCT or VAT and local payment types are part of the setup, and low-stock minimums feed a restock list with suggested order quantities. It is not released yet, and it does not have expiry alerts, variants or customer credit in the first version.
Export them to a spreadsheet and use CSV or Excel import. You get a preview before anything is saved.
