Each design its own product
List each magnet, mug or t-shirt design as its own product. Shopkeepa has no size or colour variants in its first release, so each size is its own line with its own count.
A gift and souvenir shop is mostly decided by who walks in: cruise passengers, hotel guests, returning residents. Shopkeepa helps you stock for the busy months, record each sale and see which items earn their shelf space.
Tourist seasons are busy and unpredictable, and you run out of the best sellers when it matters most.
Visitors pay in different ways, and you need the drawer and the record to agree.
Many unique items sit on the shelf for months while a few sell constantly.
Staff handle a lot of small, easy-to-pocket items, and you cannot always see what moved.
List each magnet, mug or t-shirt design as its own product. Shopkeepa has no size or colour variants in its first release, so each size is its own line with its own count.
Record each sale as cash, card, bank transfer, a local wallet or other. Payments are recorded, not processed, so card payments still go through your own terminal.
Set a minimum on popular items. One reminder when stock crosses it, and the item goes on the restock list.
Sales by week and month, best sellers and slow movers show how this season compares to the last.
Count one display at a time and let Shopkeepa record the difference.
Magnets, postcards and t-shirts under their minimum are listed. Place your orders before the ships arrive.
Search each product and add the quantities received with Stock In.
Scan or tap items, record the payment type and move on. Each sale takes one off the count.
Count what is on the shelf and enter the number. Differences are recorded.
Check the day's sales by payment type against the till and the card slips.
Caribbean tourism has a clear high season and a slow one, and ship calls and hotel occupancy shape each week. A souvenir shop near a port might do much of its year's business in a few busy months, then go quiet. Stock bought for the wrong month either runs out or sits.
Shopkeepa keeps your sales history, so you can compare weeks and months from season to season, see which items sold and plan orders for next time. For lead times on imported or handmade stock, set minimums that cover the delivery wait. How to plan for busy season walks through the method.
Visitors often pay in US dollars. Shopkeepa does not take payments or convert currency. The shop has one currency setting, and prices are in that currency. If you accept US dollars at a posted rate, ring up the sale in your shop currency and record the payment type, and keep your own note of the rate you used. Do not expect multi-currency pricing in the first release.
Gift shops carry many items that sell a few at a time: crafts, prints, jewellery, local sauces, rum cakes. A few lines drive most of the money, and the rest are there to give the shop its character. The risk is cash tied up in pieces that never move.
| Product | In stock | Minimum | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| Fridge magnet, island map | 6 | 20 | Reorder |
| Hand-painted bowl | 3 | 1 | OK |
| T-shirt, adult M, logo | 0 | 6 | Out |
Use the slow movers report to spot items that have not sold, then move them to the front, bundle them or discount them. Inventory value, where costs are entered, shows how much money sits on the shelves. Slow-moving and dead stock covers what to do.
Name items by what a customer would ask for, with size in the name where it matters, such as "T-shirt adult M logo". Every size is its own product. Shopkeepa counts whole items and does not track expiry dates, so food gifts such as sauces or cakes need a date check by hand. Small items are easy to lose, so every removal is recorded with a reason: sale, damaged, theft or loss, correction or count.
Shopkeepa has one currency setting per shop. You can record how a sale was paid, but it does not hold two prices or convert currency in the first release.
No. It records the payment type. Card payments are taken on your own terminal and then recorded as card.
Yes, as separate products, one per size. There are no size or colour variants in the first release.
Yes. Sales by week and month are in the reports, so once you have a season of history you can compare.
